BANCROFT SUPPORTS TEACHERS AND STUDENTS THROUGH DONORS CHOOSE
Life is the Art of Drawing Without an Eraser

Dear Bancroft PTA,
My students were so excited to hear that they could pick up art supplies at school. I filled 120 brown lunch bags with a set of colored pencils, two shading pencils, a nice eraser, and two regular 2B school pencils. Unfortunately, I was never able to find art pads in my budget so I also gave a stack of paper on request. At first I was not sure how many would actually come to get them. Speaking to these screens that are often are on it is hard to tell.
I am very pleased to let you know out of my 120 students 75 came to get their supplies and the councelors delivered another 20 to students who could not get there and desperately wanted them. 95 out of 120 says to me very loud and clear that the supplies where very needed and greatly appreciated.
We have been busy drawing cartooning and landscapes and it would not be possible without your support. Both my students and I greatly appreciate your support.
With gratitude,
Ms. Colt
Fighting This Pandemic Together Through Hygienic Products

Dear Bancroft PTA,
Thank you so much for your generous donation to our school.
This pandemic has been very difficult for our students and our families and we really appreciate you and your support for them. Some teachers and I were packing all the materials and we know our families really appreciate it.
Thank you for caring for our families – we know these materials not only helped them with physical hygiene, but it also listed the heavy burden for a small moment. People like you are a reminder that there is still a light in these dark times.
Thank you again.
With gratitude,
Ms. Kuang
Ms. Slaton’s Project: Man is Still the Most Extraordinary Computer of All

Dear Bancroft PTA,
Oh my gosh, did all of you come through for me and my students!!! The laptop I am using is so old. It doesn’t have enough USB ports because I have to hard wire into the modem with an ethernet cable. Sometimes the volume goes in and out. There is an old Hip Hops Abs (hahaha…do you remember that workout?) disc stuck in it that we cannot remove. It is time, and it is long overdue. I am so excited for the efficiency and effectiveness of a new device. Not only will it help relieve some of my stress, it will allow for more quality teaching and ultimately, the most important thing, a better learning experience. Thank you so much!

Ms. Slaton’s Project: Behind Every Mask Lies A Story
Dear Bancroft PTA,
This is one of the best lessons of the school year. I did it for the first time last year and it was an absolute hit! Most of our kids went on a field trip. Only 8 stayed back with me. I bought the masks from Michaels and borrowed brushes and paint. We listened to music and gave ourselves an opportunity to really open up and express ourselves through art. This doesn’t happen often in a non-art class. It was especially meaningful when we stood in a circle and explained our masterpieces. Truly an awesome experience and I cannot wait to do it again and again!
With gratitude,
Ms. Slaton – Bancroft PE Teacher
Ms. Reick’s Project: Learning Tools!
Dear Bancroft PTA,
Thank you so very much for your generous donation during these difficult times. These two resources will give my students the ability to access the content more efficiently. Many students have a calculator as an accommodation on their IEP. Having calculators readily available means the students don’t have to use a computer to find an answer. With the mouse it allows them to navigate the work on line with a little more ease. Thank you so much!
With gratitude,
Ms. Reick – Bancroft Special Education Teacher
Ms. Martinez’ Project: Math is AMAZING when you have what you need!!!
Dear Bancroft PTA,
Your generous donations are truly appreciated. My students will be better prepared and ready with the math tool you all helped them receive. They have one less thing to worry about especially in these uncertain times. I know they will appreciate these materials and it will bring them some normalcy.
With gratitude,
Ms. Martinez – Bancroft Math Teacher
Ms. Passmore’s Project: Catching a Big Fish

Dear Bancroft PTA,
Thanks to all of you for helping to fund this project! The Old Man and the Sea is a classic and I know I will get a lot of use out of these books when we get back into the classroom. I hope you and your families are healthy and keeping busy!
With gratitude,
Ms. Passmore – Bancroft English Teacher
Ms. Passmore’s Project: Fill the Holes!

Dear Bancroft PTA,
You all rock! I am excited to teach Holes to my English Learners. I know they will enjoy it as it is an engaging story and the language is accessible. I truly appreciate your generosity! Take care and I hope you and your families are safe and healthy in these uncertain times.
With gratitude,
Ms. Passmore – Bancroft English Teacher
Ms. Kuang’s Project: For a Better 2020

Dear Bancroft PTA,
Thank you so much for donating to my classroom.
This year has definitely took for a turn of events and your donations mattered even more. Because of your generous donations, I was able to give every single one of my students basic school supplies to not only use in my class, but their other classes. I’m so thankful that you donors were able to support me and help me lift some of the financial burdens can be facing during this pandemic.
Thank you for helping me care for our families in more ways.
With gratitude,
Ms. Kuang – Bancroft Science Teacher
Ms. Slaton’s Project: The Power of Creative Expression

Dear Bancroft PTA,
I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and support, especially now. The thing I am most excited about in this project is the art supplies. With all of the attention we need to give to social-emotional learning these days, the painting supplies will allow for some wonderful opportunities. Art is a fantastic way for kids to express themselves in a safe space that they can reflect and work through some of the things they are going through. We will do appreciation activities so we can acknowledge our blessings. I will make these resources available for pickup so students can have them at home so we can get started right away.
The other resources from this project will also be used for social-emotional work when we return back to school. I am especially excited to train our kids in leading restorative circles. The clipboards will hold the instructions, the fidget toys will be talking pieces, and the mandala tapestry will be placed in the center of the room for focus. We have a lot to be grateful for, and a lot to look forward to. Thank you for your contribution to our story.
With gratitude,
Ms. Slaton – Bancroft Peer Advocates Program Teacher
Ms. Kuang’s Project: Mini Kits Help Us Go Far!

Dear Bancroft PTA,
Thank you so much for your generous donations.
During these absolute crazy times, I know that my students and my families have enough on their plates. With your donations, I was able to take a little off of their plates and give them very basic school supplies for their classrooms and start off this academic year strong.
Thank you for helping me be a better teacher and support my students and their families. I know they are as grateful as I am to have people like you to care for them in ways that is so greatly appreciated.
With gratitude,
Ms. Kuang – Bancroft Science Teacher
